Book Review: The House on Sunshine Corner

The House on Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills

If you love small-town romances and want to have your heart filled with sweetness, then this is the series for you. Set in the small town of Heart’s Hope Bay on the Oregon coast, the Sunshine Corner series begins with a swoony second-chance romance. Abby is the owner of the local daycare center that she operates with her friends and her grandmother. Carter is her high school sweetheart who left town for college and never came back. Now, more than a decade later, Carter has returned to their hometown for a few weeks to help out his sister and his adorable niece.

Second-chance romance is probably my favorite trope, and Phoebe Mills does a fantastic job with this one, so much so that I was shocked to see that this was her debut novel. The characters are well-developed, and the supporting cast sparkles, especially Abby’s grandmother, aka The Baby Whisperer. I am looking forward to continuing with this series, and will definitely be checking out anything else that Mills writes.
