ARC Review: Good Vibrations

Good Vibrations by Kayley Loring
Release date: 26 May 2022

Finally! I have been dying to get to Miles’ story ever since he was introduced in the first Brodie Brothers book. He’s broody and grumpy and is the serious one in the family. He’s a single dad to the also way-too-serious Maya, and he is my favorite Brodie brother. The sunshine in this grumpy-meets-sunshine tale is Aria, a surfer girl who also happens to be a former child star who is now directing children’s theatre. The problem? Maya keeps auditioning for roles in Aria’s shows but, well, Maya kind of sucks at singing. And dancing. And acting. Will Miles Brodie let such minor details stand in the way of Maya fulfilling her dreams of a life on stage? Absolutely not. He’ll do whatever it takes to make Maya happy. Whatever. It. Takes.

This third Brodie Brothers book was a hilarious ride, just as the previous two were. I love how Loring writes such great banter with these characters. I really want to be adopted into the Brodie clan. Maybe I can be a long-lost cousin?? The best parts, as always, are the family group text conversations. And as a little bonus for me, having listened to the first two books on audio, I could still hear the characters’ voices as I read. And please please PLEASE can we have a book about Mama and Pops Brodie? I’m dying to know what their everyday lives were like raising these three boys.

While this is the third book in a series, I’d say it still could be a good read as a standalone. But do yourself a favor and start with book one. You won’t regret it.

Thank you to the author for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
